PocketHotmail 2.5 beta test

PocketHotmail 2.5 is almost finished and ready to be released. But before the final version is published some final testings had to be done. You may speed this process up by testing the beta version and helping me to find as much bugs and problems as possible :)

IMPORTANT:

Before installing a new version ensure that Inbox application is not running. It is also recommended to remove all Hotmail/MSN accounts associated with previuos version.

Instructions:

• Download a installation file here and execute it while your PPC is connected to desktop computer.
• Launch Inbox and tap Services | New Service.
• Fill in your Hotmail/MSN email address and tap Next.
• Tap Skip to skip the auto-detection.
• Fill in your name, login (including domain, ie myemail@hotmail.com or myemail@msn.com ) and your password. Tap Next when finished.
• Select PocketHotmail as service type and name your mailbox and tap Next.
• Fill in incoming and outgoing servers (write Hotmail in both fields). In domain field specify your domain (Hotmail or MSN). You may tap Options button to adjust additional settings or Finish to finish the wizard.
• At Options screen you may specify what connection PocketHotmail should use while connecting to service (in case that there is no another connection already been established) and message expiration options.
• Tap Tools|Manage folders, then mark Inbox and tap Tools|Options. Then adjust message receiving settings and increase or turn off "Get message from last xx days only" option.

New features to be tested:

• Auto-dial feature
• Support for base64/UUE/BinHex attachments
• different MIME messages with international languages support
• International languages support for outgoing messages (with UTF-7)
• Better folders synchronization
• There should be  no more "lock-ups" during message send/receive phase, though encoding or decoding a message's attachment could take some time (approx 5 min for 1MB attachments)
• Removing of HTML tags to make message readable/ selection on PLAIN-TEXT body if available.

A log file named hotmail_log.txt will be created in /Temp folder of your PPC. Please send this log file while reporting a bug or problem as well as your PPC specification to  gregfrieger@yahoo.com . Set a message subject to "PocketHotmail beta test" to help me identify these messages.
